URGENT ACTION

 opposition leader released

Mariam al-Sadiq al-Mahdi was released on 9 September. She had been detained without charge for almost a month.

 Mariam al-Sadiq al-Mahdi was released on 9 September. She had been arrested on 11 August by the National Intelligence and Security Services (NISS) at Khartoum Airport, when she returned from Paris.

 No further action is requested from the UA network. Many thanks to all who sent appeals.
